Welcome to the world of Merlin Narrowboats. These pages contain not only details of our own products and services, but also information and tools which we hope will prove useful, informative and entertaining to anyone with an interest in Britain's historic inland waterways network.
Merlin Narrowboats is a boat builder that specialises in building, painting and maintaining narrow and wide beam boats. Our primary area of work is in the design and construction of new boats to individual specifications. However we sometimes undertake refitting and stretching of boats, traditional decoration, restoration and special painting work. You can see examples of our work in the boat building, boat painting, and traditional sections of this site.
Boat owners or would-be owners may wish to visit the boat design system which allows you to lay out a boat to your own specifications. A further set of pages offer an analysis of common boat faults and their cures. There is also a glossary of canal boating terms.
Finally, all canal users will be interested in our informative pages about the historic Braunston site, with plans of the marina and the village, and also a small collection of historical pictures.
