Braunston History (Jason)

Jason

This is a photograph of a boat called `Jason' just outside the entrance to the arm at Braunston. The boat is in the livery of Chas Nelson. The picture was given to us by Wally Monk the son (now 72) of Reg Monk, who worked this motor boat. This seems to be a very formal and posed picture. Note how both of the crew seem to be wearing black jackets, white shirts and white peaked caps. We doubt this was normal working uniform. We are told that the steerer is Mr Reg Monk and the crew man by the side doors is Fred or possibly Henry Monk.
